Unlike the stuffy explorers of old, Austin Vince realised the previous century of British ‘exploring’ was rather self-centred. He hopped on his motorcycle in 1995 with some friends and circumnavigated the world himself to learn from his fellow man - becoming the first Westerners to cross the recently-collapsed Soviet Union in the process!
Ever since, Austin has embodied the classic British exploratory spirit - encouraging the next generation to look past apparent borders and differences through his Adventure Travel Film Festival.
Here he tells Joel about how the UK, and beyond, truly is a melting pot of cultures... As well as some of the incredible surprises he came across along the way!!
